Sumsy is a calm number puzzle game for kids aged 5 to 9. Each puzzle is a small grid split into colorful cages. Fill in the squares so that every row and every column has each number once, and the numbers in each cage make its target. A cage marked 3+ holds numbers that add up to 3.
It is the classic math cage puzzle, also known as calcudoku or mathdoku, made gentle for young players.
Learn by playing
- A friendly robot named Sumsy and a pointing hand walk your child through a first puzzle. No reading needed.
- Each sign (+ − × ÷) gets its own short demo before it appears in a puzzle.
- Grids from 3×3 to 6×6, and your child picks which signs to use.
- Five difficulties on every grid, from Beginner to Expert. Solving 3 puzzles at a difficulty opens the next one.
- Every puzzle has exactly one answer and can be solved by logic alone, with no guessing.
- From 5×5 up, pencil notes help with the bigger grids.
Earn hints with math
- Stuck? A hint fills in the next square that logic can work out, and shows the row, column or cage that tells you why.
- Hints are earned by answering quick math questions matched to your child's age: counting and adding within 10 at age 5, up to times tables and bigger sums at age 9.
- Wrong answers get a second try, then a picture that shows the answer. No penalties.
Something new every day
- A daily puzzle and a streak to keep going.
- 40 badges to collect: medals, stars, trophies, shields, ribbons and crowns.
- Puzzles are made on the device, so they never run out.
Made for kids and their grown-ups
- No ads, no in-app purchases and no accounts.
- Sumsy collects no data and never connects to the internet. Everything stays on your device.
- No timer. Mistakes are shown gently and never cost anything.
- A grown-ups area, behind a simple check, shows stats for solves, hints, math accuracy and streaks. You can also change your child's age, open harder levels or reset progress there.
- Soft sound effects, optional background music, and a plain grid style like a printed puzzle.
- Screen reader labels for TalkBack, and support for large text sizes.
